- Sulphadimidine Sodium 92 gm
- Diaverdine HcL 2.8 gm
- Pio verdine is an anticoccidial and antimicrobial drug contain.
- Sulphaḍimidine which rapidly absorbed and relatively slowly excreted.
- Sulphaḍimidine used to treat infections susceptible bacteria in case of pneumonia, diphtheria, Calf scour, strangles, in horses metritis and mastitise in cattle and protozoal disease in chicken and rabbit.
- Sulphadimidine is similar in structure to P-amino benzoic acid (PABA).
- PABA is converted in the bacterial and protozoal cell to Folic acid which essential growth Factor for bacteria and protozoa.
- Sulphadimidine act by competitive antagonism with PABA in the bacterial cell so prevent Folic acid formation.
- Diaverdine which active against Eimeria spp.
- Diaverdine active against protozoan enzyme dihydrofolate reductase so prevent folic acid Formation.
- Pio verdine has a synergistic effect between Sulphadimidine and diaverdine which give the product abroad effect on all Eimeria spp.
- Pio verdine has abroad effect against intestinal and caecal Coccidiosis in chicken, Turkey and Rabbit.
- Pio verdine has abroad spectrum antibacterial effect on gram +ve and gram -ve bacteria.
