Spectinomycin
Each 1 gm contains:
- Spectinomycin dihydrochloride 535 mg (equivalent to 500 mg Spectinomycin base)
- Pio spect is a spectinomycin.
- Pio spect is an aminocyclitol closely related to aminoglycoside antibiotic.
- Pio spect is bacteriostatic antibiotic active against gram – ve organisms and Mycoplasma.
- Pio spect act by inhibiting the bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 30s subunit of bacterial ribosome.
- Pio spect taken orally and absorbed rapidly From intestine and reaches the peak concentration in the blood after two hours and distributed in all body tissues.
- Pio spect used in combination with Linconeer for the treatment of chronic respiratory disease CRD and CCRD.
- Pio spect used for prevention and Treatment of :
- Treatment of omphalitis during first 5 days.
- Treatment of chronic respiratory diseases (CRD & CCRD).
- Treatment of air saculitis.
- Treatment of fowl cholera.
- Treatment of infections Coryza.
- Treatment of Enteritis caused by salmonella spp.
- Treatment of E. coli infections.
- Don’t use piospect with chloramphenicol and Tetracycline (antagonism)
